Crystal Ball ...Part 2

Welcome to the big show…. I am not sure how the NBA Playoffs can get any better…. Over the last few years I have heard a lot of complaints from NBA haters about how the game is not what it used to be .. How the NBA was better in the 90's when Jordan was roaming the air waves, the Knicks and Pacers and Heat were battling it out and out West there were so many great teams that the Western playoffs was a total toss up… But I got to say to those haters …that the NBA is back baby .. In my opinion the game is back to its peak … The Celtics and Bulls series was the most dramatic, exciting and heart pounding basket ball series I have ever seen and it didn't even feature the two best teams this year… The top five players in the game this year .. CP3 , Kobe ( I love my team more then I love women in Colorado ) Bryant , King James , Tim Duncan and Dwight Howard …..could rival any era's top five …but we will save that for another time and place..

That I forgot to make fun of the Mets … They have been a bigger train wreck then the second and third Matrix…You know what… I am sure they will still be a train wreck by the time the NBA Finals are over.. On to the Second round predictions….

My first round predictions were pretty much dead on ( except for San Antonio.. My Man Crush on Tim Duncan got the best of me ) so I don’t want to jinx it but here goes


#1 Los Angeles Lakers vs. # 5 Houston Rockets…
As all of you know I hate the Lakers more then I hate the average Adam Sandler movie.. So I was looking for a reason to pick Houston to win this series... I figured that I would take a look at the regular season series ...Los Angeles 4 Houston 0.. So I went to ESPN for help…I came to realize the following… You are going to hear a lot over the next couple of days about how well Houston matches up with the Lakers.. The analysts on ESPN and TNT are going to tell you how Ron ( I should be walked to the court in handcuffs ) Artest and Shane ( Some how people think I am good even though I suck ) Battier are a great match up for Kobe Bryant.. The will say how they can throw multiple defenders at him and get him out of rhythm…BLA BLA Bla… The truth is that Artest and Battier can not really stop Kobe.. Every time Artest gets in his face, Kobe goes for 40 .. Even if they were to slow him down the Lakers have Pau Gasol , who I would argue has been there best player this year …. They have no match up front for him.. Yao Ming runs slower then I do and will be in foul trouble early and often .. Louis Scola is well .. Louis Scola.. Gasol will dominate.. ( He Should still be on Memphis ) The Lakers could win this series with Kobe averaging 10 points a game.. I hope I am wrong but….

#2 Denver Nuggets vs #6 Dallas Mavericks….. To me this might be the most entertaining series in the second round.. These are the two hottest teams in the NBA right now and frankly the two most surprising.. Denver routed New Orleans and Dallas made the Spurs look old and slow.. I could see this series going the distance… The most important player on Denver is with out a doubt Chauncey Billups, who demolished CP3 in the first round.. Jason Kidd has a good match up with Chauncey because he doesn't run that much and likes to hang around the 3 point line.. This will allow Jason Kidd to stay fresh and on the floor and lead the Dallas offense..

I have always found Dirk Nowitzki to be a bit of wuss... ( I know wuss is an awesome word) He will be tested a lot in this series by the athleticism and toughness of Kenyon Martin, Nene , and Chris Anderson.. If Dirk can step up and keep getting to the line through out the series I think Dallas has a chance.. With all that said I don’t know how Dallas can guard Carmelo and I think the home court will be crucial.. I Like Denver

Eastern Conference

#1 Cleveland Cavaliers vs # 5 Atlanta Hawks

If the Celtics Bulls series was a pleasant surprise, Miami and Atlanta was a big let down.. Granted it went 7 games but not one of those games was watchable.. It is really a shame that Miami did not win that first round series.. If Cleveland and Miami would go head to head in round 2 we could have seen Lebron going for 45 and D Wade going for 50.. It would have been epic .. Cleveland would have killed them but they are going to kill Atlanta anyway… Aside from the Lakers I think Atlanta is the team I hate the most.. When I think of their team there is no guy I really see my self rooting for… This series will not even be close..

#2 Boston Celtics vs #3 Orlando Magic

I don't how what to think of this series… The Celtics should have no energy for tonight's game 1… The Magic are the healthier team, the more rested team and the younger team.. but the Celtics are the better team.. The Celtics may lose game1 tonight and look horrible doing it but I think they will win the series…. I don't know how Orlando can defend Pierce. .Hedo Torkoglu is not what you what I call a shut down defender… Dwight Howard creates match up problems for the Celts but I feel that Perkins can do a half decent job on him… Maybe I am being biased, maybe I am being ignorant , maybe I will be wrong… But I like the Celts to hang on for one more round…
