Well we are only 5 wins away from achieving the mission statement of this blog... The 27th Championship... All we need is a little middle relieve and some anabolic steroids for Nick Swisher.. ( I mean blame whoever you want but if Swisher has one good at bat this series its a sweep)

I expect the Yanks to close the door on Saturday Night with Andy " I only used HGH when I was injured " Pettite on the mound and get back to their rightful place ...The World Series.... After all they are going back to the Bronx where the stadium should be rocking. We have the better pitcher in game 6 and if something bad does happen we still have CC.. ( BTW. Thank God for CC. This guy has been a rock since mid July) I am very confident in the yanks closing the door in game 6.. HOWEVER..



Here is the thing.. If the Yankees had not blown that lead against the Red Sox ( Just threw up in my mouth) then I would not even be the slightest bit worried... I know it was 5 years ago and basically the whole Yankee roster has changed since that fateful night... BUT I still worry.. Is it really impossible that Andy will have an off night OR Joe Girardi will have another melt down...The funny thing is that all my life as a sports fan I have always said that managing a baseball team is the most overrated job in the whole world.. I mean how hard can it be when you have a 200 million dollar pay roll... However, Joe Girardi has shown that you do need to have a brain rather then a book ...The crazy thing is that the Yanks were supposed to be far ahead of Anaheim in the pen and that has not been the case... Hughes and Chamberlain have looked like Coke and Aceves .. ( Wait they both have been pitching in the playoffs?? Thanks Joe) . Back to Joe..He looks like he has a serious case of Hemorrhoids on the bench and he simply can not sit still.. If he makes the right moves in game 3 perhaps the series is already over...

Now as promised I need to stick my foot in my mouth.. I spent the past 5 years railing on A Rod using basically every expletive I know.. His performance these past two weeks have made me say the one thing I never wanted to... I was wrong.. I would like to apologize to Alex and his family.. The man has been hitting like no one I have ever seen before... I still Hate him.. That's my own issue... I cant even explain it...

OK So here is the deal ..Game 6 Andy Pettite vs Joe Saunders... 6 wins down 5 to go...

Welcome to the Big Show...

After a 3 month Hiatus it is good to be back.. Hey what really happens from July through Mid September in sports anyway....

Now it is Football Season .. Thank G-d its back . Also returning is Fantasy Football.. It is amazing how much it has changed Football in the past ten years..

It is amazing how differently you watch an NFL game as a fantasy owner then as an NFL Fan... I actually watched the Giant game with a Giant fan yesterday who was openly rooting for Clinton Portis.. Honestly, I can not say I blame him...At least he Will win in week 1. This is why tonight's Pats - Bills game actually means something.. Let me explain

After my team slept through week 1, I am currently down by 40 points (thats right 40) to none other then Michael Wegh.( A.K.A. My arch rival..) I have not been this afraid to make contact with him since Boston lost to Orlando in the NBA Playoffs. (*&#$**!@) Why am I down by 40 ?? You will have to ask Michael BURNER ( Please.. I Could have out ran him yesterday) Turner why he decided to pick up 5 whole fantasy points for me yesterday .. Also I would like to thank Bernard Berrian for being so tough and deciding to play through whatever injury he has only to get me a whole zero catches for zero yards...GO to Hell Bernanrd


Here is the thing... I have Tom Terrific Brady as my starting QB.. ( It is amazing how fast you can go from hating someone to loving them just by drafting them in fantasy)I also have the Bills Kicker going tonight.. ( that's right I don't even know his name .. I am screwed) So here we go ..we need 40 points ( Nearly Impossible) from those two guys to pull of the Giant upset...



Get it Giant Upset.. Ill be here all week..

Also did I mention that I picked the Patriots in my survivor pool..If I don't win week 1 fantasy I will survive.. If I don't win week 1 survivor I will go to New England Murder Tom and Gissele and sell there body parts on Ebay ( Just Kidding .. Maybe) There is no way Buffalo can win this one..

6:50 PM - TV ON ... Pats wearing the Old Uniforms .. They actually look good. Wish I could go to work tomorrow in a retro suit.. maybe a hat with a feather... Pretty excited about it... I have convinced my self that this will be like 50 -21 pats with Tom throwing 5TD's ( still might not be enough)

6:59 Here is a Stat for the Bills fan .( If there are any) . The Pats have won 16 of the last 17 against Buffalo... Not a good omen..

7:06 The Guys in the booth discuss Terrel Owens and his ability .. Over under 1.5 Quarters until Owens yells at Trent Edward or his coach..Ill take the under..

OK Back to the Fantasy Football... We need 40 points let count it down .. You gotta Believe

I am just saying I am goggling selling body parts... First Quarter over.. Brady has 1 Point .. 1.. Not the comeback I was looking for.. On the bright side only three weeks until the Yanks take the first step to the the 27th Championship..

( I just thought of something if the Pats lose at home to Buffalo is it possible that the Jets would be favored against the Pats next week .. (This week's sign of the Apocalypse)

8:54 They showed a commercial for Madden 10 . Just curious.. We all know Madden is retired yet they still make the game.. Guess that is fine .. I mean he was basically retired the past few years.. (Yeah He was that BAD).. But what about when he dies.. Will they still do Madden in 2030 .. Just curious.. I wonder if they will put a picture of his casket on the cover . The NBA Finals

Welcome to the Big Show... I apologize for the long hiatus but I have been out of the country. .. ( That and I have been trying to avoid all NBA fans after game 7 of the Celtics magic Series..) I just want to remind everyone that the Boston Celtics are still the NBA Champs...

It is finally here.. The NBA Finals... I have never dreaded any NBA Finals more in my life. Who Do I root for?? I hate both teams .. First off my father has raised me to hate all things purple and gold... Second, have I mentioned that I hate Kobe Bryant ?? ( I have .. Oh Good ) On the other hand if the Magic win this series I will never hear the end of it from my rival , Michael Wegh.. How do I explain this ??? AH .. Remember in 2000 when the Yankees played the Mets in the World Series... The Mets who had suffered for so long had finally gotten to the world series and those insufferable Met fans would not shut up... For all of us Yankee fans ( Who by the way rest comfortably in first place) the horror of Met fans celebrating at our expense was more important then the Yankees actually winning... Thank God that worked out well... So to summarize I hate both teams ( and Kobe) .. The only way that I will be happy is if the series gets canceled because both teams come up with Swine Flu.. ( Keep your fingers crossed)

So who will win???

The Lakers are clearly the favorite here.. They have the best player in the series... ( No not Sasha Vuyajic) Kobe Bryant ..Better known as the Alleged Rapist.. They have the home court advantage.. ( Even though they Staples Center often sounds like a grave yard.. ) But most importantly in this series is they can match up with the Magic..


The Magic's major advantage in the past two rounds was the mismatches they were able to create with Rashard Lewis and Hedo Torkoglu.. Although both those players are overpaid and overrated ( Suck on that Michael) They created mismatches for the Celtics and the Cavs... Both teams did not have 6 foot ten guys who can guard Lewis on the perimeter and in the post... The Celtics could put Glen ( I will be overpaid this summer ) Davis on Lewis in the post but then he would blow by him.. The Cavs could put Varejao on him in the post but not on the perimeter.. The Lakers do not have that problem .. They have the two guys in the league who could stay with Lewis and Hedo without creating mismatches.. Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza.. Both of those guys are pretty solid on defense and can neutralize Lewis and Hedo so they do not dominate the games...

So how will Orlando score??? Well in the regular season they used Jameer Nelson's speed to penetrate and he got them a lot of points.. If he plays and is healthy they can score and keep up with the Lakers... If not, a lot of the scoring load is going to lie on Dwight Howard. The question is can Howard carry the load and get 30 or so points a game for the series... Personally I don't think he can.. His offensive game is still raw and a lot of his points are created by penetration from the guards and through offensive rebounds... You have to expect the Lakers to pound Gasol and Odom inside early in games and try to draw fouls... If Howard can prove me wrong and show that he can be the focal point of the offense for an entire series then the Magic have a chance... One thing that is on Howard's side is that Gasol is a complete WOOS and will probably move out of the way and let Howard dunk so he does not chip a nail...




On the other side of the ball.. The Lakers have a major mismatch.. The Alleged Rapist will destroy JJ ( I am not in Duke anymore) Redick if Stan Van lets him guard him.. The Magic would be smart to put Michael Pietrus in the game for close to 40 minutes and hope that he can guard Kobe a little bit.. Beside for Kobe the Lakers other major strength is supposed to be there bench.. Not really the case any more.. The Magic's bench with a capable backup center in Gortat and Pietrus and now with Nelson can match up favorably with Bynum , Farmar , and Vuyajic .. If the Magic can slow down Kobe, who by the way has been playing ball non stop for like 18 months straight and like 220 games with out a day off, they have a real chance... ( 2008 season-- 100 games .. Olympics -- 2009 season 100 games )

Ultimately I think this series is going to be more entertaining then people think.. Everybody wanted to see Kobe vs Lebron but this series may be closer ( I would have picked Cavs in 5. ) ... Throughout the entire playoffs we have seen good story lines but not such great games.. Aside from the Chicago Boston series,the games have been slowed by senile refs.. I think this series may be a little more entertaining then people think.. Except the scores to be in the 100's and close games..

Hopefully the series will be canceled by Swine Flu but if not...

Lakers in 6

Aside from the Preview and predictions I had some emails come in about the NBA Playoffs.. So I figured I would let you in on them..

Hey Big Show... Who the hell am I supposed to root for in this finals... I hate both teams too.. If Kobe wins the title without me I won't be able to make fun of him anymore... If the Magic win then how will I be able to make fun of Stan Van and D Howard ??

Shaq I feel your pain... First off .. Even if the Lakers win this year Kobe will still have been the second best player on those championship teams ..You know it and he knows it . He was the Scottie to your Michael.. The Parker to your Duncan.. And he may have raped someone ... As far as Stan Van goes... No matter how many titles he wins he will always look like a porn star...What I am trying to say to you Shaq is.. Root for the Swine Flu...

Lebron .. It is not your fault that you missed the flight... It is management's fault.. Go in there and tell them that Ben Wallace and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are not NBA Centers.. This is not 2001...
