Celtics + Bulls+Game 7= Heart Failure

Welcome to the Big Show..

Ring the bell..Tonight is the night... The greatest first round series of all time goes back to Chicago for Round 6 tonight.. Frankly,I don't know If I can take much more of this .. As a die hard Celtic fan ,t he first 5 games of this series have been harder to watch then an Adam Sandler Movie... During game 5 I was standing in front of my television so nervous that I was literally pulling my shorts up like I was defending Ben Gordon.. ( Let's be honest , Tony Allen was not doing a very good job..) My wife , sitting on the couch waiting for the game to end so she can watch the end of Dancing with the Stars, says to me as only she can ," What the hell are you doing??.." I had no response.. I have become like a small child during these games.. Every time the Celts get called for a foul I come up with a new conspiracy theory about the officiating.. I swear that with 2 second to go in game 5 when Rajon Rondo slapped the crap out of Brad Miller ,I said, " You can't call that".. Of course when his nose started bleeding like a faucet I backed off... Honestly I don't remember the last time I saw so many last second shots made... Sometimes when you watch a great NBA game the last 2 minutes will be all misses and turn into a free throw contest.. The climax is never as exciting as the first 45 minutes..This series has been different... This series has been last second make after last second make.. Simply a classic..

The only thing that could make this series even better would be a game 7.. I Digress..

If I had my way tonight the Celtics would win by 58 Points.. Wait. No NBA team can win by 58 points..Wrong again .. For all those not following ...the final score of Game 4 of the Denver Nuggets vs NO Hornets was Den 121 NO 63 ...When I saw that come across the screen I was more surprised then when I heard about A Rod and Madonna ( Sorry .. can't help my self) How in the world do you a lose a game by 58 points? I honestly believe that if I got four of the followers together and played Denver we would lose by around 55... How does that happen?? If I owned the team I would fire the coach instantly .. I would request that Chris Paul return some of the 4 year 68 million dollar extension he signed... I would force Peja to make a pre game speech before game 5 announcing his retirment...

I wish i had picked the Nuggets to dominate the Hornets.. O Wait I did.. Check my first round picks..( I am currently patting my self on the back))

Back to tonight.. I have resided myself into thinking that the Celtics will lose tonight and win game 7 at home.. Partly because I can not take any more of this stress and this way I can remain calm tonight.. Immediately after game 5 was over I started thinking about game 7 . How would I deal with it?? .Then I remembered something crucial .. On some strange planet ( Versus) they were playing game 7 of the Rangers and Capitals .. So I called my cable provider and asked him if he could hook me up with access for this " Hockey " He told me that he would have to call me back because he had never heard of it.. I found the game my self .. The Rangers had lost 2-1 in game seven.. What if the Celtics lost game 7..I don't know if I would be able to put up with it .. I called my friend Ezra, a hockey expert and hardcore Ranger fan , for his thoughts... I felt that he could proved me with some inspiration to keep me going if there is a game 7 ..Instead I received an angry ,bitter fan so mad that his team blew a 3-1 lead that his attitude towards sports had soiled.. I fear that this will happen to me ... Here are his thoughts

Here’s all you need to know about the Rangers Capitals series. The top European forwards for the Capitals were Alexander Semin, Nick Backstrom, and Alex Ovechkin. The Rangers countered with Nik Antropov, Marcus Naslund, and Nik Zherdev. Nikolai Freaking Zherdev. How in the world did my Rangers get stuck with the three biggest spineless stiffs in hockey, while the Capitals landed the starting lineup for the Russian national team?? Forget the level of talent, there is simply no excuse for Naslund to miss the net in game 6, in what was arguably the single biggest play in the series. Much has been made about the discrepancy in talent among the teams, but don’t believe everything you hear. If you watched the games, you could see that this came down to more than just speed, agility and power. The Rangers Three have a total lack of heart and are the main reason why the Rangers are going home. Many of you probably had no idea what that meant, and I highly doubt that anyone could identify any one of those players except for Ovechkin. Ovechkin has garnered press for his outstanding hockey skills along with a flair for scoring highlight- reel goals. If this guy wasn’t in the running for ugliest athlete of the year, the NHL would actually consider marketing this guy, and maybe risk exposing him to anyone outside of D.C. Anyway, this guy is unbelievable. He scores like 50 goals a year and gives 110 percent every shift. He c celebrates every goal like it was a game 7 overtime winner and takes out his frustration like O’neill with his water coolers. His work ethic compared to any of the Ranger European forwards is as wide as the gap between Michael Strahan’s teeth. This is a very big problem for a team trying to win a playoff series because unlike the big three sports, one cannot get by on skill alone in hockey. Teams in other sports will tolerate massive ego’s with no heart and intolerable sportsmanship because the sport allows them to have success without (please forgive the shameless cliché) playing the game the way it was meant to be played. There will always be a place in the big 3 sports for the Marburys, Bonds, and TOs of world. But laziness/selfishness has no place in hockey. Sean Avery was benched in game 6 of a playoff series for selfishness. Game 6! Not to mention he was voted off the Dallas Stars for being a worse teammate then Cypher on the Nebuchadnezzar, and shunned form pretty much every team in the NHL. This may be why hockey lags behind the big three in popularity. Hockey teams which are successful are full of players who care about Al Pacino’s inches. It’s a faceless sport, dominated by the Brodeur’s, Zetterbergs, Lindstroms and the Niedermeyers who are faceless powerhouses consumed with playing in the month of May. The sole purpose for a winning hockey player is to break a tooth will keeping the score tied in double overtime. You just don’t get that passion in any other sport. MLB and NBA players couldn’t care less about sacrificing their summer’s to play for their country in a worldwide event. Yet in hockey, every time the Olympics roll around, NHLers will fight tooth and nail to bring home the gold. It’s about the team, and not the individual. Show of hands, has anyone seen Bobby Abreu come within 15 feet of a wall in the outfield? Is Barry Bonds the all-time leader in singles off the outfield wall? Has anyone seen Carlos Beltran slide? How was Boldin upset when the Cards clinched a Super Bowl berth? The truth is, I don’t care about stuff like that in most sports. I just don’t. I’ll hire the mercenaries in baseball or the wide receivers out on parole. Its just worth it at the end of the day. The Giants should get Boldin. The Jets should sign Burress. I hope the Knicks find the biggest baddest Ron Artests, Anthony Masons, and Charles Barkley thy can. Because these players, can actually help a team win in the other sports. But in hockey, guys with grey beards and unkempt hair, men with few teeth and even less hair are the ones to raise the cup. Shannahan, Ovechkin, Brind Amour, Messier, those guys who drink from the cup. There’s no place on a hockey team for a player like Nik Zherdev, who is sure to be let go this summer. Remember what Ryan Hollweg did in game 3 against the Pens last year? Yeah he was let go too. Unfortunately it’s gonna be another full year of wait ing to see if next year’s collection of Rangers have what it takes to actually show up in games 5 and 6 in a series. But hey, at least I’m not a Devils fan.

I then switched over to watch Game 7 of the Devils and Hurricanes.. ( Apparently the NHL has franchises in Carolina now) and the were up 3-2 with three minutes to go.. This is how I want game 7 of Bulls Celts to go.. Have the lead with the closer like Brodeur or Pierce on my team ... Final score Carolina 4 - Devils 3... The horror.. I called up Daniel B ESQ. For his thoughts... He was upset.. The next day I recieved the following..

Good afternoon, fellow followers.

The Big Show asked me to comment about how I felt after watching the Devils lose Game 7 in spectacular fashion, up 3-2 with 90 seconds to go and losing 4-3 in regulation. I could sit here and wax poetic over the agonizing emotions of a heartbreaking loss, and The Meaning of Sports and Life, but I figured instead I'd share with you 13 seconds of YouTube that effectively encapsulates just how I felt:

'Nuff said.

Some Props to the NHL and DB for this

Tonight will be different... Tonight is game 6.. There is breathing room.. If there is a game 7.. I will need support, oxygen, and of course Buffalo Wings throughout the game to keep me sane..

We are all followers.......
