It is finally here. A new start.. The mission statement of this blog takes its first steps to becoming a reality today. Today is Opening Day.. Finally ... I have not made my official predictions yet but I suspect the Yankees will be 162-0 this year. I love opening day of the baseball season.. It reminds me of summer.. This first Monday of April is one of the best sports days of the year... You start off with Opening day.( Which by the way starts at 4 today.. Not last night ..Not at 110 in Cincinnati). Then at night you get the NCAA Championship game.. BTW if NC wins tonight I will be victorious in the NCAA pool for the second year in a row.. Suck on that Michael ... Here we go with a running diary of opening day...

4:07 Welcome to Camden Yards.. The PA guy is introducing the Orioles to the fans.. It's a good thing too because first of all I have not heard of half of their guys..Secondly, I don't think the fans will be back the rest of the year.. The players are running down this long aisle like its the superbowl... Thank God the Yanks are not running this far.. If they were, Girardi would have to warm up the bullpen...CC would be gassed..

4:12 Still in the studio.. They are discussing the Boos that Mark Texiera heard because he did not sign with the Orioles... First of all , I know he was from Baltimore but would he really sign with a team who is in a battle with Toronto for 4th place.. Then it hits me.. These boos are not so bad... A Rod is not there.. The boos that he will hear when he finally gets back may be the worst of all time.. Worse then Barry Bonds.. Worse then Ron Burgandy walking the streets of San Diego after he curses out the city..

I am sure the New York papers will give him a pass..The announcers just said that a Baltimore Radio station had a contest today.. Who would get booed louder A Rod or Tex? Ill take A Rod in that contest... Plus I am willing to help out ..

435: CC Sabathia's first inning as a Yank.. Not what I was hoping for.. Single.. Walk .. Two Wild Pitches.. Thanks to a heads up play from Cody Ransom he pitches out of trouble.. I wonder what Cody Ransom would have to do in the month of April to take A Rod's spot at third for the season.. Is it even possible.. If he bats a thousand.. Nope..If he hits a Homer in every at bat in the month of April will he get the full time job... Nope.. What if he develops a super power.. Maybe if he learns how to fly.. Maybe..

5:11 It's Official..April 17th is Yankee Magnetic Schedule day.. I am already on the phone with Ticket master.. I always wondered if that ever helped sell tickets.. Does the fact that the Yankees will give the first 10,000 fans under the age of 14 a free bobble head help sell tickets?? I don't think it does.. No one is sitting at home and thinking , we got to go the game on the 17th. They are giving away free magnetic schedules... Now if they gave away free Syringes signed by A-Rod.. now that would sell tickets..

5:55 CC is getting hit really hard. Here is some great news .. YES Network just showed CC putting some kind of heating devise on his ribs.. 4 innings into the season and our ace is already in pain.. Switched to Everybody Loves Raymond for a little break from this disaster.. Does anyone like this show?? I have never enjoyed one episode of this show.. It just seems like a bunch of 40 year olds acting like they are 9.. Just don't find it funny..Sorry..

6:19 Jorge Posada is leading off...I got to say it.. I know it seems like blasphemy, but I don't think the Yanks should have brought him back.. I think he is pretty much done.. I know he was part of the Championship run.. But.. If you evaluate your team on a year by year basis then how can you bring a guy back who is 36 years old and has been playing catcher for 12 years??
